Owl Quilt & Stonestead Outdoor Quilt Exhibition

Hi friends and fellow quilters,
I have finished this third baby quilt and here is the photo.  It is a panel quilted I have quilted.  This is not a finish along quilt.  I have one in progress, pinned and ready to be quilted.

Doll's Quilt
I made this doll's quilt for my little friend Isabelle but now she is nearly 5 years old and her little sister Emily (2 on Thursday 19 Feb) has inherited it.  It has been well loved.

Here is a photo of the two of them,, 'mischievous film stars', taken by Mum Megan.

Stonestead Outdoor Quilt Exhibition
This was held on 8 February 2015 at Upper Hutt, New Zealand.  This is an annual event and it was a sunny day with a light breeze.  Just beautiful.  The quilts looked so lovely hanging in the outdoors. Next door in an old barn they served Devonshire teas to die for!!

These quilts were in the exhibition and were made by my friend, Doreen Parker, and are quite an achievement. They are hand-pieced and hand-quilted, a Baltimore and a Dear Jane Quilt. Doreen has kept a journal on her Dear Jane quilt as it progressed and it makes interesting reading. Congratulations Doreen, (We have been quilting together for nearly thirty years and I enjoy having a friend who does such beautiful work.

I took some photos of other quilts but I will have to borrow a catalogue (I gave mine to someone who arrived towards the end and didn't have one) before I can post them.

Hello friends

I feel as though I have disappeared off this earth and been in a time capsule and just come back.  I have found that a whole month has passed.  It's not supposed to work like that.  Time is supposed to stand still!!!

What happened was I bought some new curtains for the dining room and lounge and so decided to redecorate (as I do)!!!

A few small projects have got done as far as patchwork goes but they weren't on my list.  I have finished two printed panel baby cot quilts.  The first one has gone to my daughter's niece, just a few weeks old, here in Lower Hutt, New Zealand and the second to a baby boy in Melbourne.  A third one is just about finished and when I have taken a photo will be on its way to Sydney.

This is the first quilt.

This is the second.

Now I feel I am back on track.  On to the finish along quilts.

Happy quilting
