Nature Photos and a Quilt Top

A couple of photos I took from my window.  I had looked out and there were these two Kereru (Wood Pigeons), native New Zealand birds.  They are very big and to see them sitting on the very flimsy branches was amazing.  I grabbed my camera quickly.

A photo of the colourful polyanthus in my garden edging my vege garden.  They have been a colourful spot with all the rain and cold wind we have had.  I am so looking forward to spring and summer and w-a-r-m-t-h and summer veges.

Number 2 Baby Quilt top has been pieced and is ready for quilting. Photos below show the progress as I have worked on it this year.
I saw this quilt (designed by Mary Cowan) in a book "Colourful Stashbusters".  I have made hexagon flowers where Mary had five petal appliqued flowers. I made mine in pink and blue because my friend Glenys had given me some materials and the border material and I added extra out of my stash.
And yes that is jumbo size pink and blue rickrac in the white rows!

I am in the middle of quilting Quilt No. 1, the Owl Quilt as in my previous blog.

I am wanting to make a another quick quilt for a baby. I will make it so that it can be used as a wall-hanging as well. I love the bright colours.

This is for the backing.

There has been a lot of progress made on other projects which I will write about soon.

Take care
Pamela
