2015 Finish-Along List

Welcome,
I have been concentrating on developing my blog and after a few changes I am happy with my design.  I have also made my list to share with you and link up with the Finish-Along. This has been a huge learning curve for me and to get my post sent will be a great achievement for me.

1.  Xmas Quilt
This is a wall-hanging started as a challenge a few years ago and not completed.  The size is about 50 cm x 60cm.  All I need to do is quilt it and do the binding.

2.  Tumbling Blocks Cot Quilt
This has been done by hand over papers about 1995.  I have just pieced a modern backing and will quilt and bind it.

3.  Log Cabin
Started in 2013 I think, about 1.5m x 1.5m.  It is already to sandwich together, quilt and bind.

4.  Owl Baby's Quilt
This is all pinned ready to quilt.  Started 2014.

5.  Square Dance
This was pieced about 2000 and put away.  I will pin it, quilt and bind.

6.  Gold Wall-hanging
Pieced from scraps from the Cat Quilt and is my own design.  The size is about 30cm x 40cm. I started these two quilts about 1994 and there is still some piecing to do as well as quilting and binding.

7.  Teddy Bear Baby's Quilt
This was started early 2000 and needs to be quilted and bound.

8.  Cat Quilt
I love this quilt. Single bed size.  Pieced about 1994. I need to quilt it and bind it.

9.  House Quilt
This is the quilt I started about 1985.  There is still a lot of piecing to do and I hope to do some throughout the year if I have finished something early!  It is single bed size and made with some very old materials.

10. Strippy and Applique Quilt
This quilt was started at a course by Sheryl Anicich in 2013 I think.  It has been quilted by Julie Lister and all it needs is for some more larger flowers machine appliqued on it and binding.  This quilt is for me.

11. Heart Quilt Baby Size
This was pieced early 2000's or even before.  It is ready to be quilted and binding put on.

12. Strippy Quilt
This is a cot quilt and has hexagons which I am working on when I need something small to carry out with me.  This was started last year with some material I was given.

Making this list shows me that I like piecing tops but not quilting them.  So this year is going to be a challenging machine quilting year but I am looking forward to it.  Also this list is not even going to challenge my stash, all the materials are already chosen, so once these are done I will be free to make lots of new quilts.  Yeah!!!

Happy New Year

Welcome to my new blog,

I am Pamela and I am a quilter,  I want to complete some of my unfinished quilts this year and I am going to enter in a 2015 Finish-Along hosted by Adrianne.  www.onthewindyside.co.nz.

This is just what I needed for inspiration and motivation.  But the first challenge has been to set up a blog so I can join in; I wanted a blog because I will journal my progress.  This has been a whole new experience for me and will be a work in progress as I learn to improve my blog.

I have made quilts for family since I took my first class, probably about 1984.  I have been a member of Capital Quilters, Lower Hutt, New Zealand since the first year the group started. Along the way I have made a collection of quite a few unfinished projects and I have to confess that I have a UFO from about then which I have put on my list to complete in 2015. It is one of those quilts a beginner decides to do and then puts it in the too hard basket!

Why I actually want to finish this and the others is, (not because they are masterpieces), but because they each have a story and a lot of memories in them.  The second reason is that I really love the modern quilts and want to make some but my New Year's resolution is that I do the finish-along first.........that's all the motivation I need!!!
