It feels a great accomplishment and gives me a great deal of satisfaction to have got this far and to post my Q4 proposed finishes.
1. Baby's Quilt - Materials on the left front are left over from my previous quilt finish and there are enough for another quilt with a few extras added in.
2. The materials at the back all have a theme of owls and will be another baby quilt.
3. The blue batiks on the right are for decorating a jacket which I need to have finished for the end of October so that is my priority at the moment.
4. The quilt below is still waiting to be quilted.
Two of these quilts will go to babies due in February 2017. One baby is a girl.
I am looking forward to completing these and seeing what everyone else is working on.

Baby Quilt Finished
Hi to Q3 FAL
I have finished my quilt and I am very pleased with how it has turned out. It is exactly how I pictured it. I will keep it for someone special. I have called it 'Happy Memories' and as well as the memories (see previous post), I have really enjoyed making it.
I love the wonky star and I am so pleased with the black and white stripe binding.
This is the back with the golden yellow sashes.
An inside photo which looks different again.
Close up of the lolly patterned material.
Close up of the backing fabric with the word 'hello' translated in many languages.
A close up of the background fabrics. See the cute bumble bee centre right!
I quilted with straight lines (first time try) in a grid pattern.
One last photo.

Progress on Baby Quilt
Hi,
I worked to my goal of quilting the nine blocks for the baby quilt by Friday and I am pleased with myself that I achieved it. This is a quilt-as-you-go project and I now need to choose a material for joining the squares together.
Perhaps a plain from a colour below. The photo below is the material in the wonky star and is a picture of sweets I used to get as a child. Heart-shaped, multi-coloured, with the varied messages on them. It brought back a lot of memories. It also brought out the graphic designer in me and my love of text, objects and shapes and hence my choice of materials for the quilt.
I will have to put this project aside this week to work on the up-cycled jacket. It is a blue women's jacket and I have chosen strips of batik material to decorate it. More about it and photos next week.
Wishing you a good week.

2016 FAL Q3 Proposed Finishes
I am looking forward to taking part again in Quarter 3 though I am going to try and be realistic with my list.
1. This quilt-as-you go baby quilt is progressing along well and I hope to finish it.
2. Two pillowcases for Isabelle with the Frozen theme and a ballet theme.
3. Quilt this finished quilt top.
4. Complete an up-cycled jacket for a competition. I haven't got a picture for this as it is in the design stage in my head at the moment.
5. Lucky last. I had made a lot of progress on this but got stuck and put it away. I will look at it again when I complete the others.
Looking forward to the next three months and then seeing everyone's finishes.

When Life Falls to Pieces Make a Quilt
Hi to everyone
It is a long time since I have blogged and the time has gone so quickly at times. I have named this post after a heading on Emily Bailey's blog which I happened upon and I felt it summed up where I am at. (www.em'sscrapbag.com). The good thing about it is that I have again put together a list of things I would like to try to finish and found a couple that I did finish for FAL Q1 but didn't post.
First the unposted finishes:
No. 5 and 6 - two cushions which now look very nice in my lounge.
No. 9 - A pillowcase for Emily with dinosaurs on it. Dinosaurs especially requested.
Also, not on my list. I made two Christmas presents for Derek and Jill in England, Two place mats.
Not as bad as I thought!! I also had a good tidy up and rearrange of my sewing room and got lots of gardening done.
My little basket of polyanthus and pot of herbs by my back door.
Great to be back with you and fired up again!

2016 Finish Along
Hi friends,
Wishing you a very happy New Year. I have enjoyed being on holiday and have sorted my fabrics and found a few I had forgotten about. I have made a list for Q1 and have very good intentions because I missed a finish for 2015 Q4. But that's last year now, I have high hopes for 2016.
1. This quilt is ready to start.
2. This quilt is ready to be quilted,
3. This wall-hanging is left over from last year and has to be quilted first,
4. This small baby's quilt has to be quilted second.
5. This one and the next one are cushion covers which just need backings on.
6. See above. I found these, long forgotten, when tidying up.
7. I want to make a bag with this scrap material I found.
8. I want to make some pincushions with these scraps.
9. Two gifts for little friends' birthdays.- bordered pillowcases - Frozen & Peppa Pig
I am looking forward to seeing all the finishes.

The second quilt is ready to be quilted.

I will be quite busy over summer so will be happy to complete these. Anything else I finish from previous posts will be a bonus.
Happy quilting.
